Bio
“I almost knocked Albert out with my guitar.”
Dave Parker is talking to a packed room at Bottom of the Hill in San Francisco. Company Car is at the halfway point of their set, and guitars are not only rocking, but flying through the air as well. After executing a rhythmic jump during their last song, Parker’s guitar came down hard, fast and only inches away from Albert Chough’s face. Albert has played lead guitar in this band since 2005 and does not seemed fazed by the incident. In fact, this sort of thing is typical at a Company Car show. They throw themselves into each song and dare the crowd not enjoy it.
Noah Heldfond (bass) and Frank Martell (drums) round out this foursome that has recently made a splash in the SF music scene. Due to word-of-mouth and a growing fan base, they landed a headlining slot at the popular Noisepop Festival in 2006. Since then, they have only grown bigger, playing to large crowds at some of the best clubs in SF and the surrounding Bay Area.
‘Collars’ release date May 26th 2007
‘Collars’ is the first full length album from Company Car. After weeks of pre-production in their rehearsal studio, the bulk of recording was done in three days on December 15th, 16th, and 17th at Faultline Studio’s in San Francisco. The boys spent those days buried in their songs, only taking the occasional break for much needed sleep, food, and video games. When they emerged from the studio, they had produced a high-energy, live sounding record.
‘Collars’ is a 10-song collection that closely resembles their live shows. From the hauntingly beautiful chorus of “Tongue-in-Cheek” to the thunderous climax of “Pillar of Pennies”, Company Car shows a large dynamic range while maintaining a cohesive and unique sound.
